We're excited to bring this unique variety to Barossa's high country. Eden Valley shares some features of the terroir of the northwestern Spanish mountains, with some interesting differences that allow us to create our own unique sense of place. Our touch warmer climate, along with a customised approach has lead to a vibrant wine that we are quite proud of, featuring concentrated berries, toasted spice and layered tannin.
In the vineyard we have seen a range of differences to our other varieties, requiring us to greatly adjust our approach. Our new pruning methodology reduces the congestion of the bunches, spreading out spurs and reducing the number of canes. We follow this up later in the season by opening the canopy further with a modified Smart-Dyson system. It's a lot of work, but we're now seeing the results, which certainly makes it all worthwhile.

The wine was gently crushed, fermented and pressed to extract the highest quality tannins and fruit characters. After ageing to soften and develop the characters, the wine was bottled on-site using minimal transfers and gentle filling to retain fresh fruit character.
