An intensely flavoured vintage fortified wine with black forest fruits and spice. The wine is rich and viscous on the palate, demonstrating good structure and a smooth finish.
We chose Grenache grown in Tanunda to achieve a rich, ripe character. We hand-picked the 60-yr old vines on the 4th of April following a very dry spring followed by a mild summer.
The grapes were fermented for two days before a mixture and light and heavy grape spirit brandy was added to fortify the wine. Matured in old french oak for a full five years in barrel for velvety smoothness, the wine was bottled on our estate in 2020.
